United emerges top over city in the pursuit of Paul Pogba.

The biggest news of the day for United fans is the suggestion that they have now emerged as the top destination for Paul Pogba, with rivals Manchester City dropping out of contention.

The French midfielder left the Red Devils in 2012, and has gone on to become a pivotal part of Juve’s success in recent years as well as establishing himself as a figurehead of their future.

Whether or not United make a formal offer for him remains to be seen, but given the interest from the Turin giants in Mata and Darmian, it could perhaps work to Mourinho’s advantage if they are able to agree on an exchange deal of some sort.

Much still has to happen before we get to that stage as ultimately there is no official word that any of the interest is true. However, it’s more than a coincidence that the pieces are starting to fall into place with the two European giants very much capable of doing business that could suit both parties this summer.

Juve will be desperate to keep hold of Pogba, who has given no indication of a desire to leave them, and so it will be down to United to make an appealing offer to make them think twice before players consider swapping clubs.
